Challenge
Existing Dive Medical Technician courses often focus heavily on the commercial and industrial diving environment. The vast majority of Public Safety Dive teams operate in moving water, at depths less than 60 feet, and in zero visibility conditions. You and your team need to be trained to those unique challenges.
Professional Divers
The Public Safety Diver Medic Course designed for any divers who are involved in Scientific, Military, Police, Fire and Public Safety Diving and divers exploring remotely. This course provides you with the skills necessary to deal with diving emergencies. Scuba diving is different from the commercial divers working in highly dangerous situations. However, the accident and mortality rate amongst recreational divers is higher and their level of medical training lower. As a result, the course is just as valuable to recreational divers. The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care for Divers course will not teach you how to dive, and it will show you how to save lives’ and assist in treating diving-related injuries. It will teach you how to work under pressure and when to make that all important, life-saving decision.
Certification Information
In order to attend and complete this course, you must be 18 years of age or older and be in good physical health. It is expected that you hold an Open Water recreational diver certification or appropriate equivalent (Surface Support/Tender).
